Product: Teleconferencing Plug-in for Adobe Acrobat.
Challenge: Acrobat and PDF are powerful cross-platform document technologies that Adobe and Apple Computer wanted to extend across networks into real time teleconferences. The solution needed to enable two Acrobat users, regardless of the type of desktop computer they had, to establish a teleconferencing session across the Internet and review and markup PDF documents together.
Solution: Giavaneers staff, through Crosswise Corporation, developed an Acrobat Plug-In called Trapeze which enhanced Acrobat to include much of the same teleconferencing technology created for Face to Face. With Trapeze, Acrobat is extended across the Internet to become a real time, cross-platform voice, video and document conferencing application using Adobe's Portable Document Format (PDF) technology. Suddenly, any Windows, Macintosh or Unix users with access to the Internet are able to review and annotate standard and multi-media PDF documents created in any application in a real-time, cross-platform conference. Trapeze technology and trademarks are currently owned by Apple Computer.
